Sketch over the shared screen and let the host see your annotations. Turn “the thing over there” into something everyone can follow.
Keep text chat alongside the stream. Choose when to allow keyboard, mouse or text clipboard sharing, and revoke that access when you want.
A WINDOWS APP, TAKING SHAPE.
Despawn is a working desktop prototype. We’re refining the experience before making a release available here.
One host and one viewer today. Broader hardware, internet connectivity and performance testing are still in progress.
A few things to knowBEFORE YOU DROP IN
The desktop app is in development. A download will appear here when a release is ready. We’re keeping development builds out of the website and source repository.
The current app targets Windows 10 and 11. NVIDIA hardware encoding and a software compatibility path are available; other hardware and platforms need more qualification.
Keyboard and mouse control are off by default. The host must explicitly grant permission. Text clipboard synchronization also requires both people to opt in.
Not yet. Email accounts are available as a website preview. Signing into this website does not currently register your computer or authorize a desktop session.
The current desktop app can optionally share system audio. Microphone and voice-channel support are not available yet.
